Privacy Policy
Please read this document carefully. It explains how Sculwave operates and what you can expect when using the service.
Last Updated: October 7, 2026
SculWave ("SculWave", "we", "us", "our") is a sole proprietorship operated by Jinu JS, Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Kerala 695504, India. We provide real-time proximity voice chat for Minecraft servers through sculwave.com, the SculWave web app, the SculWave Android app and the SculWave server plugin.
For Sculwave's own website, accounts and billing, we are the data fiduciary (controller). For player data processed on behalf of a Minecraft server administrator, the administrator decides to use SculWave and we act as a processor (see our Data Processing Agreement).
1. Information We Process
Players
Players do not need a SculWave account. To provide voice chat we temporarily process:
- Minecraft player name / gamertag; - current in-game position (used only to work out which players can hear each other; never to determine real-world location); - the lobby code or server/network the player joins; and - microphone audio, only after you grant microphone permission in your browser or device.
This information is held only for the active session and is removed when the session ends or the player logs out. We do not create permanent player profiles.
Voice
Voice audio is relayed in real time through our self-hosted LiveKit infrastructure to other participants who can hear you. We do not record, archive or store voice conversations, and we do not use voice for advertising, profiling or AI training. Other participants may record independently; we cannot control that.
Server Administrators
Administrators sign in with Google. We may process your name, email address, Google account identifier, authentication data, and the networks, servers and activation keys you create in your dashboard.
Subscriptions
Paid plans are processed by Paddle. We receive a Paddle customer ID, subscription ID, plan, status, dates and renewal information. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
Operational monitoring
We run a monitoring system to keep the service healthy and secure. It shows aggregate and technical data such as servers online, number of connected users, capacity, latency and errors. It does not monitor or capture voice content and is not used to build player profiles.
2. What We Do Not Collect
We do not intentionally collect or keep: recordings of voice; permanent player profiles; advertising profiles; player email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses or payment details.
3. IP Addresses and Infrastructure
Real-time voice over the internet (WebRTC) necessarily exposes a user's IP address to the voice server so audio can be routed. We do not use IP addresses to build player profiles or tracking databases. Our hosting provider (Bluehost) and network providers may process technical information such as IP addresses and logs to provide hosting, networking and security. This Policy is not a guarantee that no provider ever processes an IP address.
4. Why We Process Information, and Our Basis
| Purpose | Basis | |---|---| | Provide proximity voice chat and manage sessions | Performance of the service / your consent when you join and allow your microphone | | Authenticate administrators and manage accounts | Performance of a contract | | Manage subscriptions and billing | Performance of a contract; legal obligations (tax, accounting) | | Secure, monitor and maintain the service; prevent abuse and fraud | Legitimate interests | | Respond to requests, enforce our Terms, comply with law | Legitimate interests; legal obligation |
Where the law requires consent (for example, microphone access, or consent under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you can withdraw it at any time by leaving the voice session and revoking microphone permission.
5. Retention
- Player session data (name, position, lobby): deleted when the session ends or on logout. - Voice: not stored. - Operational monitoring data: aggregate metrics kept for up to 90 days. - Administrator account data: while the account is active, then deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request, except where we must keep it for security, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations. - Subscription and billing records: as required by tax and accounting law (generally up to 8 years in India).
6. Moderation
Administrators may block or mute players on their servers using SculWave commands and Minecraft permissions. Because we do not record voice, we may be unable to verify what was said. Players can report abuse to Info@sculwave.com.
7. Third-Party Services
- Google – administrator sign-in. - Paddle – Merchant of Record for subscription payments, taxes, invoicing and refunds. Paddle acts as an independent controller of payment data. - Bluehost – VPS hosting for our infrastructure. - LiveKit – open-source voice software that we host ourselves. We do not use LiveKit Cloud.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising.
8. International Processing
We operate from India and serve users worldwide. Information may be processed in India and in other countries where our providers operate. Where law requires safeguards for such transfers, we put them in place.
9. Age and Children
You must be at least 16 to use SculWave. If you are under 18, you may use SculWave only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, and the Minecraft server you join may set a higher age requirement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not track, profile or target children with advertising. If you believe a child has used SculWave without required consent, contact Info@sculwave.com and we will promptly review and, where appropriate, remove the relevant information and restrict access.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your information, withdraw consent, request portability, nominate another person to exercise rights on your behalf (India), and complain to a data protection authority. Email Info@sculwave.com. We may verify your identity first and will respond within 30 days. Because player data is deleted at the end of each session, we may not hold anything about you when a request arrives.

13. Security and Breaches
We use access controls, authentication, server hardening, encryption in transit, monitoring and software updates. No service is completely secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by law.
14. Cookies
We use only essential cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, security, session management and preferences. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes we will update this Policy and ask for consent where required.
15. Google User Data
SculWave's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google sign-in data only to authenticate administrators and operate their accounts, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising.
